eBay's fee for jewelry
- 15% of the total sale if it's $5,000 or less.
- 9% of the whole sale if it's over $5,000.
- Plus $0.30 or $0.40 per order. Watches have their own tiered rates.
Rates for US sellers without an eBay Store, from published seller guides summarising eBay's fee schedule, last checked October 2026. Store subscribers, promoted listings and international sales change the numbers. Check eBay's selling fees page before you rely on them.
The $5,000 line
An $80 ring with a $5 label pays $12.40 and leaves $37.60 on a $25 cost.
At the top end the rate switches for the whole sale: a $4,999 piece pays $750.25, while a $5,001 piece pays just $450.49. If a piece is worth close to $5,000, pricing it just over the line can leave you hundreds more.
Common questions
What does eBay charge for jewelry?
15% of the total sale if it's $5,000 or less, or 9% of the whole sale above $5,000, plus a $0.30 or $0.40 per-order fee, as of October 2026. Watches are charged differently.
Why does a $5,001 sale cost less in fees than a $4,999 one?
Because the 9% rate applies to the whole sale once it's over $5,000, not just the part above it.
